MY HEALTHY BREAKFAST HOTSPOTS IN SINGAPORE

For me, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It sets me up and makes me full of energy, fueled, and ready to go. It also offers time for myself in the morning to eat, journal, set my intentions for the day, and find my focus.

Here are my favourite places to go to for their food and ambience:

1.     My Awesome Café

Where do I start with this place of awesomeness? From the moment you walk into the place you’re welcomed with smiley faces, with the room lit up by lanterns. Owners Frank and Bong have a knack for making you feel like the most important person in the room, with top notch service – nothing is ever too much trouble.

My go-to is a la carte: scrambled eggs, bacon, baguette, and avocado. Sometimes I mix it up with salmon or chicken. The portions are the best bang for your buck and the flavours are amazing. There are plenty of other options on the menu to choose from. The coffee is great (so my fellow coaches tell me – I’m not a fan of coffee). You will leave here with a full stomach and a full heart. This is my number-one spot for breakfast.

You can find them on Telok Ayer Street in the CBD, open throughout the week. Find out more info here: http://www.myawesomecafe.com/

2.     Burn Café

This is my local and on the doorstep of the gym I work at, so the location is perfect for me if I only have an hour to eat and chill. It’s a simple layout, cool and nestled in the hub of the city.

The owner Pav is so passionate about where his produce is sourced from, and it is all high-quality. What sets Burn apart is the homemade cheeses (the burrata is a must try) and freshly baked bread.

My go-to here would be homemade sourdough, poached eggs, and avocado (are you noticing a theme yet?). If you’re needing those extra calories, try a portion of his yummy burrata teamed with salmon.

3.     Common Man Coffee Roasters

This is a favourite spot for the locals around River Valley but also in the CBD. There are plenty of options to choose from here with some of the best coffee in town.

My go-to is sourdough, scrambled or poached eggs with avocado, chili and bacon. The produce is delicious, especially the bacon (can you tell I’m creature of habit?). I love this space as it’s open plan, but you can tuck yourself away in a corner to work away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds.

The prices are higher here so it’s not my everyday choice – I typically just go to meet up with friends or hang out there over the weekend.

I’m going to start putting more of these local recommendation posts together to give people based in Singapore more options and spread awareness of where you can get healthy meals.

I’m also always looking to try new breakfast places, so if you know of any amazing secret spots please send them over to me, I would love to hear from you.
