My Ultimate Top 6 Breakfast Spots in Singapore

Whether you’re hungover, in need of an office meeting spot with food, on a health kick as you make it a way of life or just ‘hangry’; I’ve listed my favourite go-to breakfast spots.

For a mid-week breakfast or nothing better than waking up slightly later on the weekends and sourcing the perfect brunch spot. Whether it's regular avocado, eggs on toast, pancakes or something for your healthy lifestyle these will nourish you completely.

As a fitness professional it’s always important to have my go-to places for breakfast, lunch around the location I am living or travelling to. Whilst I typically opt for cooking at home, the majority of the time I fully encourage having options to go to when you’re running late, or setting up a work meeting. As a creature of habit I always find similar breakfasts that I know have a great combination of protein, carbohydrates, and fats to kick start my day. The same applies for you as it will give you enough energy to keep going through until mid-morning or lunchtime.

  1. My Awesome Cafe

Kicking off with my favourite spot for breakfast options. The timings have changed over the years so in the week you’ll be looking for a late breakfast start. My go-to breakfast was to make your own where I would get baguette, scrambled eggs, bacon, chicken and salad. I always have a mixed berry chocolate protein shake after my workouts and for the extra bit of energy a spoon of peanut butter. The staff are absolutely incredible, super friendly and helpful to all your needs. It’s also a great lunch and dinner spot in the heart of the CBD in Singapore. What makes this cafe very unique is the decor of the space with unfinished walls, interchanging ornaments depending on what’s going on in the world for themes that month to vintage dinnerware. Frank and the team are nothing but AWESOME. It’s a great spot if you’ve just done a morning walk or run around the marina to finish with some delicious food. 2. Sarnies

A classic cafe and a place I have been going to for years. It has a simple concept in that it opens its doors early which is great news for all you coffee folks out there. I love the a la carte choice so I can mix it up between my eggs, proteins like steak, greens and veggies. This is one hearty meal that’ll keep you full until lunch time. Not the biggest fan of the overcooked bacon. There are so many delicious options to choose from especially if you’re maintaining a healthy lifestyle and want some great options to leave you full until lunch. I do love a post gym workout shake. (FYI: The Fry Up is only available for weekend brunch on Sat, Sun and PH from 8.30am to 3.30pm.) Not only are they great for breakfast choices but I absolutely love their lunch menu and their brownies (wow) - melt in your mouth type! Situated at the beginning of Telok Ayer you can opt for inside or outside. The seating outside is great for viewing passers by in the hustle and bustle of city goers. 3. Carrot Sticks & Cravings

If you’re looking for some time out and a wholesome breakfast in a different setting seek out the calmness of the location here at Robertson Quay. The restaurant is situated in a great spot for breakfast to catch up with your friends and family. A great choice of wholesome and healthy food that fulfils all nutrition requirements. A few favourites of mine are signature smashed avocado, pancakes the right way and the breakfast burrito that’s served only on weekends. There are two locations you can find Carrot Sticks & Cravings Robertson Quay and Stanley Street: https://www.carrotsticksandcravings.com/

4. Common Man Coffee Roasters

If you’re looking for some time out on the weekend or in the week you can find Common Man in multiple locations across the island of Singapore. If you’re a coffee lover this is the spot for you. They’re super generous with their options to choose from for breakfast and all of the coffee options you need. There are a few options I like and there is definitely a theme in some of the selections that I choose; house-made crunchy granola, common man veggie wonderland, Turkish common man breakfast, and common man full breakfast. That will keep you full until early afternoon. You can wash that down with a good flat white and your day is off to a good start. Common Man Coffee Roasters, multiple locations including Joo Chiat, Telok Ayer and Martin Road.

5. Wild Honey

An awesome weekend choice for breakfast especially with their all-day breakfasts. Situated in the heart of Singapore around Orchard it’s a great spot with which to combine your shopping. I’m a lover of their delicious pancakes. Find out more about their menu here: https://www.wildhoney.com.sg/

6. Tiong Bahru Bakery

A go-to hub for all the French bakery goodness in a number of locations in Singapore. Key locations to visit would be Fort Canning after completion of a park workout. Or, walking in the park is a lovely way to start your morning in the week or on the weekend. The bakery has a mix of savoury and sweet options to tickle your taste buds. I love the location in Tiong Bahru amongst all of the shophouses and different locations. A must visit here. Find out more information here: https://www.tiongbahrubakery.com/
